Online Celeb Class: Shutterfly Savvy

open registration/self-paced class with forum support

registration includes 1 8"x8" 20-page Shutterfly photo book with a photo hard cover (not soft, not padded) to be ordered by 12/15/09; cost of shipping not included; value $29.99

Class includes: 6 detailed lessons for making Shutterfly books that use non-standard layouts and backgrounds; 16 page templates; 4 digital page kits (from DesignerDigitals); and 1 8"x8" Shutterfly photo book with a photo hard cover (not soft, not padded) to be ordered by 12/15/09.
Would you like to make photo books that are laid out to suit your photos? Would you like to use backgrounds, frames, and other charming details that are tailored to your album subject?

Shutterfly Savvy, taught by Pattie Knox, takes you step-by-step through the process for installing the necessary software (a free trial copy of Photoshop Elements for PC and Mac), using digital templates to arrange your photos on the page in ways standard photobook formats don't allow, adding digital papers and embellishments of your choice, and getting all of this uploaded and laid out at the popular photobook service Shutterfly.

Photo books are causing quite a stir in the scrapbooking world. Whether it’s a fun-filled vacation, gorgeous wedding album, new baby book or just an everyday moment you want to remember, a professionally bound photo book from a processor like Shutterfly is the perfect approach. Create your photo book once, and order as many copies as you like for friends and family. (You can even share your photo book with them and they can purchase a copy for themselves!)
What you get with this class:

Getting Started guides for obtaining and installing a free trial copy of Photoshop Elements.
6 detailed lessons in downloadable/printable pdf format walk you through the entire process of using digital templates, saving your album pages and uploading them to Shutterfly, creating custom cover and spine, and laying them out to create the book you want.

Upon registration you'll receive a link to download an 11-page document that welcomes you and provides the roadmap to the entire class.

16 page templates as shown at the bottom of the the sidebar here. These are alternative layouts for your photos. Once you learn how to use these templates, you'll be able to use other templates widely available on the internet. The templates for the "Memories" album shown in the sidebar are available for sale at, and the templates for the "Grateful For" album shown here are available free in the Get It Scrapped forums (beginning Sept 8).

4 complete digital page kits (shown here). Each of these page kits include several patterned and solid papers as well as embellishments like buttons, frames, ribbon, and alphabets. The page kits you receive are from the designers at and are: Tribute by Anna Aspnes, Alandia by Katie Pertiet, So Grateful by Jesse Edwards, and Gingerbread Lane by Pattie Knox. The styles of these 4 page kits cover a range of seasonal themes.

1 8" x 8" Shutterfly photobook (20 pages, photo hard-cover, not soft, not padded). Cost of shipping is not included and the coupon will expire December 15, 2009. Available while supplies last. You will receive a coupon code for your Shutterfly book via email.
