TIPS & TECHNIQUES: Watercolor and Stamping with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors by Jennifer McGuire

Word of warning: this is a rather lengthy video, but if gives a good overview of the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors ... and that bits starts right at the beginning of the video.

If you're not into card marking and stamping, well, just stop the video midway!

and if you're thinking (like I did) ... hmmm... but I am not good at watercolouring and that's a bit too much to invest in ... well, this video and the ideas you can get online on how to use the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors (even on dark cardstock!) you'll find good and expansive use for it.

So, as you can see that although the traditional Japanese Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors  were designed for professional artists and crafters, they can be enjoyed by novices and experts alike. 

Each watercolor block comes in an individual tray that can be removed from the palette during use. The underside of the box lid features a color chart that you can fill in yourself using the actual watercolors so that you can see exactly how they will appear when used.

The large pallets allow working straight from palette to paper, making them great for painting on the go. If heavily diluted the paint dries highly translucent or with less saturation it dries opaquely with a slight sheen. Can be used on conventional watercolour paper or dark coloured cards.

Adult coloring has taken the creative world by storm with academic and clinical research showing its de-stressing properties. But most of us remain conservative, playing with only color pencils ... and rightly so as we’ve not coloured for decades! 

Join Namizam Muda (Zam) as he walks you through his personal journey of coloring with various mediums ranging from inks, markers, pan and water soluble pastels, iridescent mixed media products, fluid and cake watercolors to different types of color pencils.

This workshop also allows you to experiment with various types of mediums with Zam, learn some Color Theory 101 that will cover topics such as selecting the right colours and creating texture by shading, toning and blending.
