Use it on altered book pages, as a stencil for creating backgrounds, or for ribbons on potted plants.

It is a bit over 3" wide and sells them by the yard.

Scrappy Angie's: Create an Abstract Background

Hey, it's me again. Angeline. After a fun weekend of Mixed Media at, I am armed with a brand new inky roller (brayer) .. Ok not so new coz it's filled with layers of paints now :) has 3 sizes of inky rollers by Ranger. Click HERE to get yours now.
Here's a comparison of the sizes side-by-side (Credit to Ranger for the photo)

For today's quick tutorial - I am using the mini inky roller to create my very own abstract background.

Let's get started!

1. Get your distress paints and put some onto your watercolor cardstock randomly.

2. Get your inky roller and start rolling! :)

#1 Remember to not be "greedy" and add too many colors. This will cause the colors to become muddy.
#2 After each roll, clean your brayer on a scrap paper so not to contaminate the rest of the colors.
#3 If you want to add more colors on top (let's say you think you need more yellow), wait till the first layer is dried then add. If not, again, this will make the colors muddy.

Here I've tried with some other Distress Paint colors :)

Now, go have fun and start rolling! :)

Introducing Brand # 233 - Stencil Girl

We were introduced to Stencil Girls not too long back by SnC 2014 CELEB ART RETREAT Celeb Artist Nathalie Kalbach … and theres a reason why you must absolutely adore Stencil Girls as much as we do.

Designed by various mixed media artists who know and love stencils and use them regularly these stencils are of 7 mil mylar thickness, a plastic film that is heat resistant.

The stencils are thick enough to be strong and long lasting, yet they are thin enough to provide a seamless look in your art.

These stencils are also laser cut - can you say precision!! - right here in the USA.

But you can now get them in Asia from - featured during the SnC 2014 CELEB ART RETREAT with Nathalie Kalbach where participants won Natahlie Kalbach's Stencil Girl's stencils FREE and enjoyed discounts on purchases! they are now available on our online store.

Use the stencils with paint or texture medium (Wood Icing rocks).

They will work with encaustic products and you can clean them on your hot palette if you are quick about it, Stencil Girl does it all the time when her palette is cooling.

You can use them for rubbings or as a template for drawing, incising or stitching.
