Introducing Our Latest DTs

Introducing two of our latest DTs, finalists from Project Scrapaway 2008. They will be our designers for our soon to be launched - Kit Club!!!

Please welcome:
Rachel Clarke
"Hi, I'm Rachel, stay at home Mum to two very energetic kids, Aaron (3 years) and Maddison (1 year) and wife to Lyndon of 13 years. We moved to KL from New Zealand in November 2007.

I started card making with rubber stamps in the late 90's and scrapbooking has evolved from that. I used to put my photos into my own bound black page albums for a number of years, but "proper" (if there is such a thing) scrapbooking was something I started around 2002/2003.

In the last 4 years I haven't been able to scrapbook as much as I would have liked, so this year I have enjoyed scrapping again and making small inroads into the mountainous pile of photographs I have waiting to be scrapped. The kids, family events and everyday life is what I tend to scrap and I would say my scrapping style is whatever I feel like at the time :-) I feel very honoured and excited to join the DT at Scrap-n-Crop and am looking forward to the challenges ahead

"I’m Sharmaine, Mum to four gorgeous girls and married to my best bud Dave. I live in beautiful Tasmania, Australia and think it is the most wonderful place to live. I started scrapbooking in 2005 and my style and stash have been evolving ever Since!!! I love to use words and pictures to share my story and am happy when I can tell it the way I see it. I love to share words of wisdom for our girls and using scrapping is a great way to pass on wise knowledge, they can’t answer me back that Way lol. I am honoured to be part of Scrap-n-Crop’s design team and hope to inspire and be inspired. "

We look forward to launching the kit club soon with our new KIT CLUB DTs....and I have to apologise for delays in mailing out all prizes for all contests as we have been busy moving and I cant find some of the stuff!

think in SHADES, not just COLOURS

Well, when the boxes arrived at the doorstep and I was ticking it off against the invoice, I couldn't help but think, "When is this going to end?". It was back breaking work and having moved them over the weekend I now understood the hoo-haa (protest) my sister was going about when she first stacked them up to our very own Petronas wannbe-Bazzill twin towers that was taller than me!

Looking back, it's probably a GREAT move on my part of indiscretion and getting carried away, since Bazzill prices has gone up and the ringgit has weaken against the green back.

So, all this can only mean one thing to all the supporters of

you still get your staples (Bazzill cardstock) at the same low old price + you get to chose SHADES, not just COLOURS.

Given that it is a crazy 14 feet tower of Bazzill, I think I'll be listing it by colours - since I have enough shades and texture per colour to keep me busy.

Stay tune for the fun ... and yes, laugh away at my craziness!

It is probably a bad idea to blog about the 'store' updates especially when I took annual leave today! LOL

OK. It's pretty amazing how many things were actually cramped into my little store (and stairway and entrance)... I find it unbelievable and as we sorted them, recount stocks and displayed them some hard hitting facts were unearth:
  1. there goes ALL my salary and savings
  2. darn! I thought I lost those items and cancelled the sale
  3. what?!? There's still 12 of them? errr... another 12 is arriving any day soon
  4. I am seriously in need of rehabilitation
  5. I am blessed to be married to a down to earth husband who not only puts up with my silly pretty purchases, but takes over all the practical purchases - got us pantry supplies, bar fridge, spare bulbs, cleaning supplies cetera! And oh, he's fantastic at fixing furniture too.
So, here's some updates:
  • We are almost there. Just a couple more trips (minus the PP which we are still waiting for the paper tray arrivals from the USA).
  • I've got to find 4-5 men to help me carry a book shelf my husband installed flat on the floor. A lying book shelf on the floor is literally a white elephant - not to mentioned its size and colour - huge and white!
  • I can use 250 hooks in 5 hours. I bought the store out of display hooks! I've to wait 8 days for them to remake the hooks.
  • My in-house camera person (sister) is down with the ankle the size of an elephant - so no photos, sarcasm and humour.
  • We have got pantry supplies, bar fridge, spare bulbs, cleaning supplies cetera!
  • We made RM 80 from selling our carton boxes!!! (this also translates to the amount of things I have; just like those shopping vouchers you get from Metrojaya or Isetan equals how much you have spent in the past!)
OK. Back to reality. Packing stuff to ship out and off to bed - got to go to work tomorrow. :(

MR and ATC corner

Day #2 updates:

Lost loads of productive time to injury time.
Sustained 2" cut on head, 1 elephant looking swollen ankle, bruises ...

Maya Road corner done.
ATC corner partially completed.
14" high Bazzill transported without event - all my babies survived in their new wrappers!!!

devoted MAYAns corner ~ especially for all our MR fans!

'chipboard monster' cookies for SALE!!!

The ink pads are a temporary installment until the rest of the stand arrives by ship. I'm thinking of hanging all of them on a wall since there's just too many colours. Ideas anyone?

but I am way too excited to continue keeping this under wraps!

So a little clue and sneak peek here...

meters and meters of slate walls
{ I was bemused when the installer said it was the largest project he has ever done yet in Malaysia. Either business is that bad OR slate walls are a luxury!!! I don't know. }

Got a tat excited here... but gimme a break! It's just a "naked" mannequin and a magazine on a rack. But the clue here is the magazine's title "Room-to-Room". hmmm... I wonder what this means?

more slate walls and awwww... tiered trays

hmmmm... I too wonder what ALL this could mean? (wink)

Why wait? We have Ali's newest book in store NOW

Why wait
when we have it right now???

3 new books...

more coming later...somehow only 1 box arrived!

As we bid farewell to Liza and Wati from Singapore, we welcome 2 NEW DESIGN TEAM members:

Jaz Lee (Singapore)

"I am Jaz Lee from Singapore. I have been scrapbooking for 2 years now and loving every moment of it. I have 3 krazy adorable kids and a great hubby Simon. They are my scrapped items most of the time.

My work, I will say, I don't have one definite style, but if I have to describe it, I would describe it as a "beautiful mess". I like to clutter the page up with papers and embellishments into one organized piece. And I always think it is exhilarating to have the freedom to greet each piece of work as a challenge, to think up new ideas and be as creative as possible.

I am honoured to be part of Scrap-n-Crop. It's a great place you would not want to miss. Let's have fun together here! ;)"

Huzaifah Zainon (Malaysian residing in UK)

"I am Huzaifah a.k.a. Ifa ( pronounced eefa ). I am Malaysian and long term resident in the UK, having met Alistair at university many years ago. We have two boys Jaspar and Hamish. We live in a beautiful village near Peterborough. It is a complete change in scenery for us, after 20 years in London. I design and write computer program; I know if I tell you designing a computer program is very much like designing a layout, you wouldn't believe me.

We love travelling and the most exotic location we have visited so far is Angkor in Cambodia. Besides scrapbooking I am also a gardener. So it is no surprise that you will find my scrapbooks filled with pages about my family, my travels and my cottage garden.

I have been scrapbooking for nearly 3 years. I recently won Scrapbook Magazine Scrapbooker of the Year 2007 and currently sit on their Design Team. I have also been published in Scrapbook Inspirations. After resisting for so long, I have recently started a blog."

Let's welcome Jaz and Ifa to our team as they will be our resident DTs along with Iris Babao Uy from the Phillipines!!!

+ + + + + + + + + +

{ since inception, we have been fortunate to be blessed with many amazing and talented women as our DTs and volunteers. As a favour back to them, we are more than delighted to share a word on them - a testimonial if you like - for anyone who wishes to know more. Just write in to us at with re: about DT }
