This week Lisa shows us how to create the Vintage look with Distress Ink / Distress Ink Pad and existing embellishments you have lying around … like scraps of patterned papers left over from previous projects and old recycled lace.
Pairing them up with pearls and flowers, she "dressed up" a recycled jar … a quick and easy project with a jaw dropping outcome that will have everyone going ga-ga over it.
A great way to give homemade cookies, pickles and candies!
.
Here's what she used and distressed for the vintage appearance:
.
.
Plain white lace dipped in Distress Ink, excess Graphic 45 pattern paper cut-outs of two butterflies with edges distressed with Distress Ink Pad and a cage motif cut-out from Bo Bunny's Little Miss Maree pattern paper with edges distressed too.
.
To ensure an even colour for the lace, Lisa had done the following:
.
Left to Right Instructions :
Some water, Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad, a shallow dish, thin layer of sponge/ dish washing cloth and the lace of your choice.
Tap the Distress Ink onto the thin layer of sponge/ dish washing cloth, then drip some plain water into the dish.
Swirl / stir the water and Distress Ink mix to an even consistent. The amount of plain water added will depend on the intensity of your desired dyed end product.
Spread out the dyed lace on a art/ craft mat to dry.
