A Merry Christmas Layout!
You may think it is a little early to be thinking about Christmas, but it will be here before we know it! So why not get ahead of the game, and start thinking about your Christmas layouts – or cards – now? A kit is a great way of getting everything in one go – and you don’t have to worry about making sure everything matches because someone else has already done that for you! Kits are also usually cheaper than buying each item individually too, making them great value for money.
This week’s layout was done using one of Scrap-n-Crop’s
Christmas kits. It included
several sheets of paper to choose from, including two yummy die-cut ones; some
matching cardstock; fabric; ribbon; rub-ons; and a generous strip of gorgeous
die-cut felt.
I gave the green cardstock a spritz of Tattered Angels
Glimmer Mists in Antique Brass to give it a nice festive feel, then laid the
circular Making Memories die cut paper on top. When our children were a bit younger Christmas was always a
bit hectic – in a fun way – and I wanted to reflect this in the layout. So I choose several photos, converted
them to black and white, and printed them out at different sizes before making
a collage of them in the middle of the page.
The layout still needed some extra sparkle though – and
sitting on my desk, purely by coincidence, were some Dew Drops from The Robin’s
Nest. Perfect for popping on each
scallop of the die-cut paper. They
really catch the light too, making them reminiscent of twinkling fairy
lights. The finishing touches were
a December 25 die-cut and die-cut felt strip, both from the kit, plus Making
Memories Shimmer Alpha stickers to note which year the photos were taken.

HINTS!!! {hot tips}

Spray
mists can make a real mess if you’re not careful.
Use a box – a clean pizza box, an old shoe box, etc – to
contain the spraying and save your furniture!
